"Did you ever hear the story how this
province got its name?
I'll tell you, so you'll understand
whence all this moisture came.
No wonder that it's always wet, out
here beside the sea,
For here's the way an ancient Siwash
told the tale to me:
Sure a little Prohibition fell upon
the land one day,
And all the folks grew thirsty, and
began to wilt away,
And when the angels saw it, sure it
filled their hearts with care --
They said : "Suppose we wet it, for
it looks so dry down there?"
So, they sprinkled it with dewdrops,
but that made no difference,
So, they poured down rain upon it
in quantity immense.
And as the moisture settled on the
place, they cried with glee:
"When all this rain is finished, sure
we'll say it will BC."
